Adline Ann Cabral

Adline Ann Cabral, 85, formerly of Atwater, CA. went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2013. Adline passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Louisville Community Care Center in Louisville, Nebraska. Adline was born on December 23, 1927 to Vital and Clara (Pimental) Rogers on her parent’s ranch in Atwater, California. Vital and Clara were settlers in the Atwater Community. Adline attended Mitchell School. Adline worked on the family ranch, helping to raise her siblings. Then when the family moved to Merced, CA, she helped her mother run their boarding house until she met her future husband, Anthony (Tony) Cabral, Jr. On April 20, 1948, Adline was united in marriage to Tony Cabral by the Justice of the Peace, in the historical Merced Courthouse. They were blessed with two children, Sharon and Anthony. While her children were growing up, she dedicated her life to motherhood and homemaking. While raising her children, Adline along with Tony, worked for local farmers harvesting almonds in the field and working on almond harvesters. After her children were grown, Adline worked at the Davis Cannery for several years until her retirement. Adline was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Adline loved to sing, dance, and make people laugh. She was well known for her sense of humor that will truly be missed by her family and friends. Adline loved children and enjoyed watching her beloved 8 grandchildren Norman F. Shelton II, Lori Ann Hord, David Anthony Shelton, Melanie A. Boehm, Anthony E. Cabral, Crystal Fragulia, Debbie Moss and Joey Cardoza grow up. Always the loving grandma, she adored her 19 great-grandchildren: Donovan and Ruby Hord; Charlotte Boehm; Adline, Cadin and Devin Shelton; Alexis, Nolan, Zane and Lauren Shelton; Morgan and Haley Centamore, Hannah Bowles, Blake Duncan, Tyler Cardoza, Blake and Gianna Fragulia, Casey and Miceala Moss. Adline is survived by her two children, daughter Sharon A. Shelton and her husband Norman; son Anthony V. Cabral and his wife Vicki; sisters Emily Cunningham and Rose Sauer and brother Johnny (Jack) Rogers and his wife Lindy; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. Adline was a long-time resident of Atwater, California until her marriage. In 1955, Adline moved to the Ballico, CA. area for 8 years returning with her husband to Atwater in 1963. In 2003, due to health reasons, she moved to Plattsmouth, NE, to be near her daughter, Sharon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vital and Clara Rogers; husband Tony Cabral, Jr.; brother Tony Rogers and sisters Marie Silva, Louisa Deloge and Clara Chamberlain. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 23, 2013 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Atwater, CA. Final resting place is Winton Cemetery, Winton, CA.
