Allan C. Volwiler

Allan C. Volwiler passed away on June 19, 2024, at Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, NE. Allan, born March 4, 1942 in Carroll, NE, was the son of Clarence Volwiler and Ardis (McKinsey) Volwiler.

He graduated from Winside High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Wayne State College. Allan married Susan Worthman on September 4, 1964, and together they raised two sons, Keith and Chris.

Prior to moving to Plattsmouth in 1968, he worked at the University of South Dakota.   His career was marked by over 30 years of dedicated service as a Manager of Computer Systems at Carlson Systems in Omaha, NE. In his retirement, he became a cab driver in Omaha for a decade, gathering great stories from his many passengers.

Allan was a man of many talents and interests. He loved gardening, cooking, and spending time with his grandchildren. Sunday dinners were a cherished family tradition. Allan was also known for his handyman skills, always ready to tackle a DIY project around the house.

Allan is survived by his son, Chris (Kim) Volwiler of Plattsmouth, NE, and his adored grandchildren, Cody, Holly, and Tucker Volwiler. He is also survived by his siblings, Joyce Harmeier of Norfolk, NE, Norma Lee Stoltenberg of Norfolk, NE, and Dwain (Elinor) Volwiler of Norfolk, NE. Allan is preceded in death by his parents, son Keith Volwiler, sister JoAnn Stoltenberg, and brother Donald Volwiler.

A memorial service to honor Allan's life will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Carroll, NE.

The family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in his memory.

Arrangements are being handled by Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, NE.
