Aubrey W. "Bill" Lewis

Aubrey William “Bill” Lewis, 79 of Plattsmouth, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Bellevue, NE. Bill was born on December 31, 1934 in Sidney, Nebraska to Aubrey & Margaret (Mines) Lewis. Bill graduated from South High School and then joined the US Navy. He married Dolores Hobbs on September 4, 1954 at the Mosier Memorial Presbyterian Church in Omaha, NE. He had many jobs, they include: Car Salesman for Griffin Ford, Real Estate Agent and Broker, Owned ERA Lewis-Harriman Real Estate, Owned Accurate Services, and worked for NP Dodge. Bill was very active in church serving as Presbyterian Mariners District Skippers, Presbyterian Elder, Deacon and Youth Leader. He also laid the cornerstone for Mosier Pilgrim Presbyterian Church. He was also President of the Ralston Band Parents, President of the Plattsmouth Rotary Club, President of Murray Lions Club, Master Mason, Past Member of Ralston American Legion, and Past Member of Nebraska Jaycees. He is survived by his wife, Dolores "Dee", Plattsmouth; children; Sue (Mike) Mohr, Omaha, NE; Judy (Mike) Simpson, Murray, NE; Sandy (Matt) Massey, Orleans, NE; Matt (Nikki) Lewis, Murray, NE; 8 grandchildren: Briana Mohr, Kaitlyn Mohr, Cody (Michelle) Simpson, Joey Simpson, Kim Gundrum, Jared Lewis, Ella Lewis, Anthony Ruelas; 2 great grandchildren Emma Gundrum, and Frankie Gundrum. Also survived by nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Douglas Lewis and Donald Lewis, and sisters, Helen Lewis Richardson and Evelyn Lewis Brentlinger. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Plattsmouth, NE with Rev. Carl Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
