Bette B Bourne

Bette B. Bourne age 99 of Plattsmouth was born on December 3, 1917 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska to James and Minnie (Mockenhaupt) Bulin.  She passed away peacefully on April 11, 2017 at The Nebraska Masonic Home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.  She lived her entire life in Plattsmouth working at Bell Abstract as a Secretary for many years and also teaching the art of sewing to students at Bellevue College.  Her most important role was being a wife and mother. Fashion was a passion for Bette and she enjoyed making new clothing for her family.  She helped create cheerleading costumes for many years at Plattsmouth High School.  Bette was a member of the Home Chapter #189 Order of the Eastern Star in Plattsmouth and also held the title of Miss Plattsmouth 1937.  Preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, daughter Leslie Ann, siblings, Alice Schaeffer, Chris Bulin and Edith Best,and nephew Dan Schaeffer.  She is survived by Son, Bradley Bourne of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Raymond Bourne of Glendale, CO; Heather (Gideon) Hansen of Colorado Springs, CO, nieces, Sandra Bailey of Cape Coral, FL, Nancy Stuckey of Paso Robles, CA, nephews, Paul Vandervoort III of Vancouver, BC, Kurt Schaeffer of Des Moines, IA. Private graveside memorial services will be held in July in Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth.
