Betty Mae Meisinger

Betty Mae Hutchison Meisinger was born on October 4, 1924 at Rock Bluffs, Nebraska to Claude and Nellie Hutchison. She passed away at the age of 89 years and 58 days at the Bellevue Medical Center on December 1, 2013 due to complications following surgery. Betty grew up in the Rock Bluffs area her entire life and attended Plattsmouth High School from where she graduated in 1942. Following graduation, Betty received her teaching certificate and taught rural schools in the Plattsmouth area for approximately four years prior to her marriage to Francis “Stuart” Meisinger on October 2, 1946 and they moved to the Meisinger Family Farm where she resided until her death, this farm has been in the Meisinger family for approximately 144 years. A busy farmer’s wife, Betty was also active in the Cullom Extension Club having been a charter member since 1949 until its final meeting on November 14, 2013. She also sold Avon almost 50 years in the Plattsmouth area. Betty attended Church of the Holy Spirit since her marriage to Stuart in 1946 and was a member of the Eagles F.O.E. #365 Auxiliary in Plattsmouth. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Nellie Hutchison, her brother James, her husband Stuart and infant son Stuart Matthew. Betty is survived by daughters, Ellyn Kathleen Meisinger, Plattsmouth, NE and Aimee Jane Cooper, Plattsmouth, NE. Grandchildren, Jennifer & husband Brad Ludwig of Plattsmouth and Jolene and husband T J Tijerina of Omaha. Great Grandchildren, Matthew, Meredie, Mackenzie, Kennedy and Joshua Ludwig along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Visitation will be Thursday, December 5th at Harvey Funeral Home from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 8:00 p.m. Family will be present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, December 6th at Church of the Holy Spirit at 10:30 a.m. with Father Loras Grell presiding. Organist will be Jolene Rogge with vocalists Marcia Meisinger Holdridge and Terry Little. Joy Scanlan is the reader and Lynn Vinduska and John Meisinger as Accolytes. Pallbearers include Brad & Matthew Ludwig, Randy & Cory Hutchison, Mike Bowen, T J Tijerina. Honorary Pallbearers include Dennis & Rodney Keil, Kurt Petereit, Ed Dellinger, Steve, Mike, John, Tom Meisinger, John Holdridge, Meredie Ludwig, Ron Ross, Pat Steenson, Bob Kiser and Dan Newburn. Burial will be at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery followed by lunch at St. John’s school gym.
