Bobby LaDon Gorum, age 78 of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on August 23, 2026, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Born on October 8, 1947, in Covington County, Alabama, to Clayton and Syble (Campbell) Gorum.
Bobby was raised on the family farm and graduated from Red Level High School in 1966. He married his high school sweetheart, Glenda Gorum, on August 22, 1967, in Andalusia, Alabama. Together they raised two children: son John, and daughter Delissa.
Bobby dedicated 20 years of service to his country in the United States Air Force, where he attained the rank of Technical Sergeant in the Security Forces. After retiring from military service in 1987, he continued to serve his community through various security positions, culminating in his role as a security supervisor for Tyson Foods in Omaha, Nebraska.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Bobby was a devoted fan of Alabama Football, and he enjoyed rooting for his team alongside family and friends.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 59 years, Glenda Gorum of Omaha, NE, son, John Gorum of Omaha, NE, daughter Delissa (Dan) Bohnert of Omaha, NE, grandchildren, William (Holly) Gorum, Johnathan Gorum, Jeovanni Gorum, Noah Gorum, and Alysha McNAry, and great-grandfather to Wade Marco, Wyatt Doyle, Warren Doyle, Alice Gorum, and Amani Davis. He is also survived by his sister, Charlotte (Mike) Powell of Bay Minette, AL, brother, Jerry (Donna) Gorum of Red Level, AL and also survived by Jennifer Klinginger of Omaha, NE.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Clayton & Syble Gorum, granddaughter, Lyrisha Gorum, and brothers, Shelby Gorum and James Gorum
Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 10:00am at St. John's Cemetery in Bellevue, Nebraska.
