Brad J. Powell

Brad Powell was born December 20th, 1959, in Manhattan, Kansas, to Forrest and Mary Powell. He passed away Monday, October 24, 2011 in Bellevue, Nebraska. Brad grew up in Edgar, Nebraska, and attended high school in Shickley, Nebraska. He graduated in 1978. Brad spent the next few years working as a welder and construction worker. In 1981, he went to work as a ranch hand for the Judy Ranch in Kansas and married Angie Rosenquist from Shickley, Nebraska. Brad joined the Kansas Army National Guard in 1982 and transferred to the US Air Force in 1985. While in the military, he worked as a vehicle mechanic and also as a basic training military instructor. He was stationed in Texas, Spain, and Idaho. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1994. He moved back to Nebraska in 1999 and he has worked at Offutt Air Force Base as a civilian vehicle mechanic. Brad is survived by his Wife: Angela Powell of Plattsmouth, NE; 2 Sons: Carrston Powell of Arvada, CO and Benjamin Powell of Lincoln, NE; Mother: Mary Powell of Mankato, KS; 3 Sisters: Barb (Jack) White of Hastings, NE; Claudia (Jack) Fringer of Marysville, KS; Nancy (Steve) Hilligas of Blue Hill, NE. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his father, Forrest Powell. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska with Rev. Jim Spanjers officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 28th at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery near Shickley, Nebraska with Father Thomas Walsh officiating. Military rites will be provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Memorials may be directed to the family Brian P.
