Cheryl Kay Henry, 82, of Plattsmouth , passed away October 1, 2026 at Country House in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born on March 6, 1944, in Omaha, Nebraska, to T. Ralph and Gwendolyn (Hansen) Sullivan.

During her younger years, Cheryl would ride her horse Peggy to and from country school at Rock Bluff. She later graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1962. In July of 1963, she was united in marriage to Larry Henry, in a ceremony at First Presbyterian Church in Plattsmouth.

Cheryl lived a life filled with creativity, love, and community service. She worked initially as an Office Clerk in downtown Omaha and then after her girls were grown, she worked for Richard and Ruth Sack's accounting firm. Her greatest role, however, was as a stay at home mom to her daughters, Angi and Dawn. Over the years, she also cherished her role as a grandmother creating countless joyful memories through fun activities, family gatherings, and Sunday dinners.

Her creativity was evident in her many hobbies, including gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting, and crafting-earning her the affectionate distinction of being the "original Pinterest" long before Pinterest ever existed. Her love of sewing also became a meaningful way to serve others. As a mission offering, she sewed clothing and created care bags for underprivileged children and families around the world.

Cheryl actively participated in the Presbyterian Women's group, served as a Sunday School teacher, and helped organize funeral lunches and chicken pie dinners. Cheryl was also known for her collection of frog figurines. She and Larry enjoyed traveling together and taking rides in their yellow 1946 Ford Coupe, creating many memories along the way.

Cheryl is survived by her daughters, Angila (David) Sharp of Plattsmouth, NE, and Dawn (Craig) Ford of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren Alan (Abby) Sharp of Fremont, NE, Shelby (Darren) Lojo of Lincoln, NE, and Gabe (fiance' Maya McIntosh) Ford of New Ulm, MN; great grandchildren, Alma Sharp and Ava Lojo; brother, Tom Sullivan of Plattsmouth, NE; sisters Beverly (George) Ebersole of Palos Heights, IL, and Gail (Rob) Hackwith of Lincoln, NE, and sister-in-law, Betty Henry of Plattsmouth, NE along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Gwendolyn Sullivan, husband, Larry, ; sisters-in-law, Della Sullivan and Mary Ann Smalley as well as brothers-in-law, Norman Henry and Fay Smalley.

Visitation will be held at the Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, with family greeting friends from 5 - 7 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Matt Coplen officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer's Association .
