Dale J. Parsons

Dale J. Parsons age 58 of Plattsmouth, was born on April 24, 1959 in Omaha, Nebraska to Wilbur L and Bernadette M. (Hassur) Parsons.  He passed away on May 18, 2017 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, Nebraska.  Dale was raised in South Omaha, the youngest of six children.  He lost his mother as a young child and was raised by his Aunt Nellie.  He graduated from Daniel J. Gross High School in 1977.  After he started dating Karen Tesarek, he moved to Plattsmouth.  He and Karen were united in marriage on June 18, 1988 at the First Presbyterian Church in Plattsmouth, together they raised two children, Jacob and Rachel.  Dale worked for more than 30 years for the City of Plattsmouth, first working for the Street Department and then later as the Operator of the Waste Water Treatment Plant.  Dale was a family man, he coached his kids in soccer, basketball, softball and baseball.  He worked booths and school carnivals, proms and helped build floats for parades.  Dale was made a Lord of the Realm for the Plattsmouth Harvest Festival in 2015.  He spent many hours volunteering during the set-up and clean-up for this event every year.  He was a big supporter of the Toys for Tots program and enjoyed shopping each year for gifts to be given to needy children.  He is survived  by wife Karen, children Jacob and Rachel all of Plattsmouth, brothers, Ross Parsons, Denver, CO, Bill (Suz) Parsons, Bennington, NE, sisters, Cheryl (Martin) Hensley Omaha, Barb Slade, Omaha, NE, Sandy (Dennis) Mitchell, Omaha, NE, Parents-in-law, Arthur & Edith Tesarek, sister-in-law, Nancy (John) Lowery, brothers-in-law, Doug (Karen) Tesarek, David (JoAnn) Tesarek all of Plattsmouth.  Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and niece Tammy Parsons. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth, Nebraska with Father David Azambawu officiating.  Visitation will be on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 5-7 PM followed by a 7:00 PM Rosary all at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.  Arrangements By:  Brian P.
