Dallas H. Jensen, age 69, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at the Hillcrest Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bellevue, Nebraska after a short battle with cancer. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10th, @ 10:30 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, with the Rev. Carl Anderson officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9th, from 2:00 P.M. till 5:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church.
Dallas Henry Jensen was born June 13, 1945, to Henry and Dorothy (Terveer) Jensen in Iowa Falls, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in the Zion United Church of Christ in Hubbard, Iowa, and attended Hubbard Schools graduation in 1963. He then attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa, graduating with a degree in Education in 1967. After graduation, Dallas taught and coached in Eldora, Iowa, until 1971. At that time, he moved to Linn Grove, Iowa, and continued teaching and coaching for the Sioux Valley Schools for four years. In 1975, he and his family moved to Ida Grove, Iowa, where he taught and coached until 1990. At that time, Dallas and his wife moved to Beatrice, Nebraska, where Dallas continued teaching and coaching unti his retirement in 2007. In his 40 years of teaching and coaching, Dallas influenced the lives of thousands of students.
On July 8, 1967, Dallas married Pamela Quirk in Schaller, Iowa. This union brought two children, DeeAnn and Eric.
Dallas enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoy spending time with his grandchildren and attending their various sporting events. He enjoyed golfing, collecting marbles, reading about history, shooting at the range, and playing cards. In each community Dallas lived, he was active member of the Presbyterian Church, serving on several committees.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Dorothy Jensen; father-in-law Edgar Quirk; sister-in-law Barbara Jensen; and sister-in-law Deborah Thompson.
Survivors include Pam Jensen, his wife of 47 years; his children, Dee (Jeff) Boger, of Battle Creek, Iowa, and Eric (Darci) Jensen, of Papillion, Nebraska; his grandchildren Austin Boger, of Alta, Iowa; Cole Boger, of Mapleton, Iowa; Jensen Boger, of Battle Creek, Iowa; Connor, Ella, and Nick Jensen, of Papillion, Nebraska; one brother, David (Marilyn) Jensen, of Farnhamville, Iowa; mother-in-law Marjorie Quirk, of Battle Creek, Iowa; brother-in-law Don Thompson, of Schaller, Iowa; sister-in-law Nancy (Mark) Kasuboski, of LaVista, Nebraska; and nephews and nieces.
