Dana Lynn Kucera Skidmore

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dana Lynn Kucera Skidmore, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, and friend, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the age of 41. Born in Omaha, on Tuesday, January 18, 1983, Dana lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished moments.

Dana was an incredible beauty, apparent right at birth and that beauty came from within. She never knew a stranger and touched nearly everyone's life in a flirtatious and positive way. Dana's early years were spent in Weeping Water, NE before moving to Plattsmouth in the late 1990's. She graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 2001, before pursuing an Associate's degree. Her professional journey, which began at 16 when she got her first job as the "phone girl" for Tincher Ford Motor Company, led her to additional roles in the auto industry as the Office Manager and then Title Manager until her early death, ending at TA Center, INC in Foristell, MO.

A born leader and social butterfly, she was always the heart, soul, and life of gatherings, from the moment she walked in the room.  Dana's warmth and vivacious spirit made her a beacon of joy to those who knew her and she enjoyed life to its fullest, surrounded by thousands of friends and coworkers. The hearts and lives of those left behind are feeling a vast void that cannot be filled or mended. Although that quick flash of her beautiful smile and loving face will never fade, Dana is loved by all. Debi, Dana's mom, will always think of Dana as the sunshine on the highway to heaven and the rainbow in the sky.

Dana is survived by her mother, Debi Waterman; grandma Janice; step-fathers, Dave Waterman and Steve Freeman; children, Derrick and Autumn Skidmore; Derrick and Autumn’s father, Wesley “Moose” Skidmore; ex-husband, Roger Peckham, brother, Joshua Kucera; sister, Stephanie (Fredy) De Leon; four nieces and nephews, Easton Kucera, Hudson Kucera, Rhys De Leon, Darcy De Leon.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray and Marianne Freeman, Dana and Rosemary Kucera, and grandfather James Kush.

Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Dana's life on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 6 PM at the Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth.
