Daniel "Danny" Szawicki

Daniel E. "Danny" Szawicki, age 63 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, July 30th, 2025. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on Saturday, February 17th, 1962, to Edward and Sue (Welty) Szawicki.

Danny grew up in Omaha, where he attended Bryan High School, graduating in 1980. He enlisted in the United States Army and served for a short time before being medically discharged.   Throughout his life he held various jobs working in lawn care and at golf courses. Daniel found joy in the great outdoors, embracing activities such as fishing and hunting. These hobbies not only brought him personal joy but also enriched the lives of those with whom he shared his adventures.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue E. Szawicki, and his sister, Diana L. Szawicki. Surviving him are his father, Edward Szawicki, his siblings, Cindy McGill and Matt Szawicki, both of Bellevue, and Brenda (John) Mohler of Cedar Creek. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

A memorial service will be held at Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, NE, on Thursday, August 7th, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to gather, remember, and celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man.

Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Danny's name.
