Darlene J Brown

Darlene Joy Brown age 74 was born on October 24, 1945 in Ontonagon, Michigan to Robert and Irene (Bopp) Strebe.  She passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, Nebraska.

She grew up with her 10 siblings.  She married the love of her life, Daniel Brown, on June 19, 1972.  She was a loving mother of six children, Kathy, Cherie, Deborah, Laurie, Danette and Chris.  She cherished all her numerous grandchildren and great grandbabies.

Darlene enjoyed sewing and crocheting and crafting with her grandchildren.  She cherished the little things in life and gave so much love.  She was gentle, sweet and kind-hearted to everyone she met.  Darlene had a green thumb.  She enjoyed gardening and watching things grow.  She could nurture a single leaf and turn it into a beautiful plant.  Darlene did the same with her loved ones.  She was a nurturing wife, mother, and grandmother.  You could always find a smile on her face no matter what she was going through.  She was a strong woman, a fighter, she pushed through what most of us could not.  She will always be remembered for all the love, laughter and happy times she shared.

Darlene is survived by her husband Daniel Brown of Plattsmouth, NE, children, Kathy (Doug) Roby of Herkimer, NY, Cherie Chadwell of Idaho, Debra (Todd) Bowers of Clarksville, TN, Laurie (Ed) Spiezio of Yulee, FL, Danette (Tim) Stone of Plattsmouth, NE, grandchildren, Nicole, Shelby, Colleen, Christa, Anna, Eddie, Brianna, Kurt, Mark, Doug, Elizabeth, Sara, and Nick siblings, Eva Strebe, Gwen Strebe, Donald Strebe and Ida Strebe.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Irene Strebe, son Chris Brown, siblings, Lee, Vern, Robert, and Kay.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Harvey Funeral Home (Social Distancing and State Guidelines will be followed).

B urial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth, NE.
