David Edwin Moore, age 79 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  He was born on August 31st, 1945, in Corydon, Iowa to Harold B. and Gladys L. (Farris) Moore.

David graduated from Corning High School in Corning, Iowa, in 1963. He was united in marriage to Penelope L. Moore on August 28, 1969, at the First Christian Church in Plattsmouth, a union that lasted until Penelope's passing.   A proud veteran, David served as a Radar Technician in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, completing two tours of duty.   After his military service, David worked for 29 years as a Field Machinist at Allied Chemical. He later worked as a Control Room Operator for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office for 19 years.

David had a passion for watching TV and traveling, interests he enjoyed throughout his life. He was a beloved member of his community, known for his warm spirit and kind heart.

He is survived by his children: Shannon (Carl) Hartley of Highland Springs, VA, Jason Moore of Plattsmouth, NE, Tae-Randa Moore of Plattsmouth, NE, and Matthew (Tiffany) Moore of Plattsmouth, NE. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Ashley Reed, Carl Hartley, Arien Moore, Eva Moore, Tyler Moore, Jaiden Merrill, Dakota Kennedy, and Tracy Wake, and six great-grandchildren. David is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann (Steve) Willett of Plattsmouth, NE.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Penelope L. Moore, his parents, Harold B. Moore and Gladys L. Moore, his son, Eric Moore, granddaughter, Alexis Moore, and brothers, Marvin & Robert Moore.

A graveside service will be held at Rock Bluffs Cemetery in Plattsmouth, NE, on Friday, May 30th, 2025, at 2:00 pm.

Memorial donations be made to the family for a future designation.
