Debra Dawn “Debbie” Nickels, age 60 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska was born on March 10, 1956 in Wakefield, Michigan to Chet and Florence (Allen) Baker. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, August 12, 2016 at her home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. On February 21, 1995, she was united in marriage to Terry Nickels in Reno, Nevada and together they made their home in Plattsmouth and raised their combined families. She worked for many years for Mutual of Omaha as a Distribution Compensation Development Specialist. She enjoyed traveling, baking, spending time outdoors, sewing and searching for new ideas on Pintrest. Her greatest joy was the time she was able to spend with her family and especially the special moments with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Terry Nickels of Plattsmouth; Children: Dustin (Britnee) Hoffner of Omaha, Robert Nickels of Lincoln, John (Tina) Nickels of Lincoln, Katie (Seth) Nunn of Omaha, Jake Nickels of Lincoln; Grandchildren: Hayden, Austin, Connor, Eli, Elizabeth and Emma; brother, Kenny (Annette) Baker of Douglasville, GA; mother: Florence Baker of Douglasville, GA; Father-in-law: Robert Nickels of Plattsmouth She was preceded in death by her father, Chet Baker and her grandparents Memorial Services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel, Plattsmouth, Nebraska Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 with family greeting friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
