Dennis Richard "Cotton" Larsen  age 63 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born on  December 1st, 1961, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, to Earl and Shirley (Koubek) Larsen.

Dennis graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the class of 1980. Shortly before his graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Jeanie Duckworth, on February 23, 1979, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Though they later parted ways, Jeanie remained his best friend and confidante throughout his life.

Dennis dedicated many years to working for the Plattsmouth Street Department and National By-Products (Darling) and he also had a knack for concrete work, contributing to numerous projects over the years.  An avid outdoorsman, Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a passionate football fan, cheering on both the Nebraska Huskers and the Oklahoma Sooners with equal enthusiasm. Dennis also played slow pitch softball for many years, forming lifelong friendships along the way. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, taking great joy in the activities and accomplishments of his grandchildren.

Dennis is survived by his children, Marla (Chris) Smith, Clarissa (Adam) Fenton, and Curtis (Maren) Larsen; his cherished grandchildren, Sawyer, Journee, Harbor, Finlee, Bridgette, Andee, and Hayes; and his siblings, Greg (Vicki) Larsen, Kim Plymale, Cindy (Bob) Bushnell, and Shari (Gene) O'Neill. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Shirley Larsen, his son Brett Larsen, and his grandson, Hunter Smith.

A visitation will be held at the Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, NE, on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Community Church in Plattsmouth, NE, on Friday, July 11th, 2025, at 10:30 am with Pastor Harald Rappold officiating.

Memorial donations may be directed  to the family for future designation.
