Donald Ray Aylor age 91 of Plattsmouth Nebraska was born on September 03, 1931, in Plattsmouth to Ray and Virginia Aylor. He passed away on Thursday February 9th 2023 surrounded by family at the Nebraska Medical Center.

Don lived his entire life In Plattsmouth. He married Mary Ellen Reed in 1950. Together they raised two children Vicki and Tom on a small acreage where they enjoyed the simple pleasures of living off the land. Later in life Don and Mary became grandparents to Corey and Carey Larsen and Reed Aylor. Don's grandchildren meant the world to him. Together with his wife he helped raise them, playing an important and valuable role in their lives.

Don worked at Union Pacific Railroad for over 40 years. He was highly involved in his community as a city councilman here in Plattsmouth. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was passionate about hunting and fishing and the opportunity it afforded for adventures and quality time with friends, children and grandchildren.

Don was known as a man who never threw a fish back. He loved to garden and could fix nearly anything that was broken.

Everyone knew Don was a man you could count on, always happy to lend a helping hand.

In recent months Don had moved to the Masonic home in Plattsmouth, where he made new friends and brightened people's days with his infectious smile. Don had the biggest heart the kindest words and the warmest hugs.

Today he is dearly missed and his spirit and memory lives on in our hearts. Don Aylor our dad, brother and grandfather will continue to be an inspiration and an anchor for our family for years and years to come.

A Memorial Service & Masonic Funeral Rites will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Nebraska Masonic Home Chapel, 1300 Avenue D, Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
