Donald R Young, Jr.

Donald Richard Young, Jr. age 54 of Bellevue, Nebraska passed away on September 25, 2024 at his home in Bellevue, Nebraska.  He was born on August 29, 1970 in Shirley, Massachusetts to Donald R. Young, Sr. and Vicki E. (Wyatt) Young.

He graduated from Weeping Water High School and enlisted in the United States Army.  After he was honorably discharged, he embarked on a career in the food industry.  He worked for more than 20 years at the Offutt Air Force Base Commissary and most recently as a cook for The Lodge at Catfish Lake.  He was an avid poker and dart player, playing in multiple leagues around the area.  In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, working puzzles and reading.  His most special times where there shared with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie Young of Plattsmouth, NE, children, Joshua Young of Bellevue, NE, Daniel Young of Plattsmouth, NE, step-children, Eric (Britteny) Landon of Plattsmouth, NE, Rebecca (Patrick) Rehder of Plattsmouth, NE, Nicole Clark of Maryland, mother, Vicki Smith, of Bellevue, father, Donald Young, Sr., step-father, Steven Smith, Sr., grandchildren, Azriel Landon, Donovan Landon, TK Landon, Leonard Clark and Zoey Rehder, brothers, Douglas “Scooter” (Elizabeth) Young of Bellevue, NE, Steven (Roxanne) Smith, Jr. of Plattsmouth, NE, Nicholas (Amanda) Smith  of Bellevue, NE.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glen & Opal Wyatt and his in-laws, Gladys & Robert Cameron.

A Celebration of Donald’s Life will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Bellevue Eagles Club, 209 W Mission Ave, Bellevue, NE 68005.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
