Donna L. Trofy, age 85, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, passed away surrounded by family on January 10, 2026, at her home in Plattsmouth. Donna was born on July 9, 1940 in Alliance, Nebraska to Jim and Juanita (Wood) Larsen. 

Donna grew up in Plattsmouth and graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1958. She was later married to Larry Trofy on April 5, 1975 in Santee, California. Donna resided in California for over 27 years, where she made significant contributions as the President of the Day Care Association in San Diego. In this role, she worked closely with local and federal law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and protection of children. Her commitment to child welfare continued after moving to Plattsmouth, she was instrumental in the founding of the Cass County CASA Program where she served as President. She also worked as the cook for the Plattsmouth Senior Center for many years. 

In addition to her professional endeavors, Donna was a devoted animal lover. She raised Blood Hounds for Search and Rescue and actively participated in rehabilitating injured animals, including Bald Eagles and Owls. Her affinity for horses further showcased her compassion for all living beings. Family was of utmost importance to Donna, and she found immense joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

Donna is survived by her husband, Lawrence Trofy; her son, Troy Trofy, her daughters, Samantha (Aren) Wilson; ; and Lenette Trofy, grandchildren, Shane Trofy, Brian Trofy, Yvan Trofy, Travis Trofy, Chelsea Trofy, Brittany Trofy, Cora Trofy, Amanda Dennett, Brianna Goss, Cassandra Trofy, Brayden Wilson and Gillyan Wilson. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and a family friend Howard. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons and her siblings. 

A private family service will be held at a later date.
