Doris L Luehrs

Doris L. Luehrs age 85 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska was born on April 30, 1933 to Virgil and Clara (Harmsen) Gruelke in a farm house west of Atlantic, Iowa.  She passed away surrounded by family on Monday, October 1, 2018 at her daughter Tammy’s home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.

Doris was united in marriage on November 16, 1949 in Wahoo, Nebraska to Arley Watson and to this union two children, Linda and Leonard were born.  After she and Arley divorced, she met Bob Rohwer and the couple had two children, Beverly and Barbara.  She later married Charles Luehrs on March 10, 1958 and the couple had five children, Valerie, Charlotte, Debbie, Kevin and Tammy.  Doris worked for many years as a nurse aid at the Glenwood State School and also worked for many years at the Corner Bar in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.

She loved spending time with her family.  She loved her dogs, going to the casino, playing keno or bingo.  She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary.

Doris is survived by her children, Linda (Greg) Otte of Ralston, NE, Leonard Watson, Beverly Halagarda, Barbara Haliku, Valerie Taylor, Charlotte Cobb, Debbie (Gary) Molck and Tammy Jordan all of Plattsmouth, NE, 26 Grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Katie Fisher and special friend Marvin Nicholson of Holiday, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Kevin Luehrs, husbands:  Arley Watson and Charles Luehrs and special friend, Bob Rohwer.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, NE with Rev. Lloyd Stuhr officiating.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth, Nebraska

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
