Dorothy Bratton

Dorothy Bratton was born April 23, 1923 in Belfast, Ireland to Samuel and Jeannie (Barry) Gibson. She passed away November 7, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Plattsmouth, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 14 days. Dorothy loved children which led to her becoming a teacher. She worked for Head Start. She enjoyed singing and her Irish birth place was a critical influence for her. She was known for having a Green Thumb and liked growing plants. Her companion “Buddy” the dog gave her great happiness also. She is survived by her children Renee Rinck and significant other Bob Sharrar of Plattsmouth, NE; Jeanette (David) Akin of Biggs, CA; Janice Bratton of Billings, MT; step daughters: Adelle (Jim) Platt and family of Gualala, CA ; Josephine (Frank) Salata and family of Cape Cod, MA: grandchildren: Rebecca Lynn (Sean)Tyrell; Johnny Akin; great-grandchildren Devin, Christopher, Sarah and Rhian. Also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: Parents, 3 Brothers Dermot, Jack and Willie; 1 Sister Maureen and a Son Kenneth. There will be a Celebration of Life Luncheon on Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Plattsmouth Eagles Club from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Normal Hills Cemetery in Lewiston, Idaho. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family. Arrangements by Brian P.
