Earl Ellis Wiles, age 79 of Plattsmouth passed away on February 1, 2026, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born on August 23, 1946, in Omaha, Nebraska to Virgil and Virgie (King) Wiles. 

Earl grew up in Weeping Water and graduated from Weeping Water High School in 1964. In 1965, he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves, proudly serving his country until 1971. On July 1, 1967, he united in marriage with Loris Miller, and together they raised two sons, Robert and Rodney. 

Earl's career spanned 40 years as a mechanic at the Ash Grove Cement Company.  He was a member of the Louisville American Legion and actively contributed to his community, serving for many years on the Plattsmouth Park Board. Earl also held the position of President of the Cement, Lime, and Gypsum Workers Union. In his role as a community supporter, he became well-known as the official starter for numerous swim meets during his children's youth. Earl spent many hours visiting sales and auctions, where he collected antiques

.Earl is survived by his two sons, Robert (friend April Phillips) Wiles of Plattsmouth, NE and Rodney (friend Kathy Albin) Wiles of Bellevue, NE; his granddaughter, Megan Wiles of Milwaukee, WI; his sister, Melissa (Marvin) Cave. of Weeping Water, NE and his former wife, Loris Wiles of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Virgie Wiles. 

Visitation will be held at the Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home on February 3, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. 

The funeral service will take place on February 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home, followed by burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Plattsmouth Senior Center Meals on Wheels Program.
