Ebbin Timothy Bryce Gehrke, age 16 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, passed away on August 25, 2023, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, after a courageous battle with Ewings Sarcoma. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. Born on August 28, 2006, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Cheri Ann Sunderman and Jon Charles Gehrke.

Ebbin's journey was one of determination and courage. A 16-year-old 12th-grade student at Plattsmouth High School, he displayed remarkable resilience in the face of adversity. Prior to his diagnosis in 2018, Ebbin was an enthusiastic athlete with a natural talent that shone in various sports. He had a desire to one day play football at USC.  He was an avid San Francisco 49er’s fan, but it was baseball that held a special place in his heart.

Ebbin found joy in his interests and passions. He served as the 2023 spokeskid for Sunshine Kids, touching hearts and inspiring those around him. Ebbin was known for his love of spending time with his cousins, creating memories at the lake, embracing the thrill of hunting and fishing, and enjoying golf cart rides.

Ebbin's zest for life was contagious, and he found joy in the simplest pleasures. He was a lover of food of all types and enjoyed bonding with his dog, Berkie. Gaming with friends, indulging in fast cars and car shows, braving through scary movies, and embarking on car rides with his Aunt Taylor were sources of endless happiness for him.

Described as witty, smart, and a fighter, Ebbin's vibrant personality left a mark on those who knew him. He had a knack for cracking jokes and that unforgettable, infectious smile illuminated every room he entered. Ebbin's resilience and determination were nothing short of inspiring. His favorite color, pink, embodied his free-spirited and joyful nature.
