Edna Irene Hansen age 98 of Omaha, Nebraska was born on December 31, 1917 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska to Carl and Lucille (Green) Carlburg. She passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Country House Assisted Living Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Edna was raised in Plattsmouth and graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the class of 1935. She was united in marriage on August 21, 1940 to Ervin J. Hansen in Hebron, Nebraska. During World War II, she worked at the Martin Bomber Plant, helping with the war efforts. After the war, she worked for Continental Baking Company, Mystery Oil Station Resturant, assisted Ervin for 10 years as he built houses, and finally worked for 17 years as a Business Office Supervisor for Bergan Mercy Hospital for 17 years. She was a Sunday School Teacher, sang in the church choir and especially enjoyed traveling including destinations in Sweden and Denmark. She is survived by her Nieces and Nephews: Glenda (Don) Sears, Marilyn (Joe) Beebe, Gloria Owens, David Minniear, Susan (Bill) Tice. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ervin J. Hansen, brother Glen Carlburg and sister Mildred Minniear. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth, Nebraska with Dr. Allan Wooters officiating. No visitation.
