Elizabeth Mae (Painter) Snodgrass, age 92 of Plattsmouth, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on January 17, 1934, at her home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, to Robert M. and Edna M. (Gorder) Painter.
Elizabeth's mother died when she was a young child and her father remarried Fern Jahrig who later adopted her. She grew up in Plattsmouth and later graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1952. On June 14, 1953, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Robert Wayne "Corky" Snodgrass. Together, they created a loving home on a farm in rural Plattsmouth, where they poured their hearts into raising their three daughters: Debra, Roberta, and Nancy. Elizabeth fully embraced the role of a farmwife, actively participating in all facets of the family farm operations while providing a nurturing and loving environment for her family.
In addition to her duties on the farm, Elizabeth held positions in the County Superintendent of Schools Office under Neil Lancaster and later worked at the Hefner Chiropractic Center. Her passionate spirit extended to sewing beautiful clothing for her daughters, and she took great joy in making doll clothes for her grandchildren. Elizabeth belonged to the Home Chapter #189 Order of the Eastern Star, where she formed lasting friendships. She enjoyed many lively games of Bridge with friends
.Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Debra (Dan) Thiessen and Robbie (Bob) Mink, son-in-law, Michael Kiroff, grandchildren, Travis Thiessen, Chad Thiessen, Krista Mink, David (Brandy) Mink, PaulaJo Kiroff and Ryan Kiroff, numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Painter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Edna Painter, Adoptive mother, Fern Painter, daughter, Nancy Kiroff, siblings, Charles Painter, Patricia Painter-Dykmann, and Robert Painter, Jr.
In keeping with Elizabeth's wishes, no services or viewing will be held. A private service will be conducted at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Murray Christian Church or Murray Volunteer Fire Department.
