Etta M Cherek

August 2, 1928 — April 6, 2023

Etta Mae Cherek age 94 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska passed away on April 6, 2023, at her home.  She was born on August 2, 1928, in Omaha, Nebraska to Hans and Mae (Bruce) Greenhagen.

She was married to Edward F. Cherek for over 60 years and together they raised five children: Ben, Martha, Stanley, Richard, and James.  She spent her entire life in the Omaha area and was a devoted member of the community. Etta was a proud member of the Eagles F.O.E. #154 of South Omaha for 50 years, where she made many lifelong friends and memories.

Etta had many passions in life, but none greater than her love for her family. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren, and they will always remember her kind and caring spirit. In her spare time, Etta enjoyed sewing, cooking, and crafts.

She is survived by her children, Ben (Johanna) Cherek and Martha Davidson, 13 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and sisters Flo and Suzie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward Cherek, sons, Stanley, Richard and James Cherek, son-in-law, Joey Davidson, grandson Frankie, great grandson Gage, brothers, Roy, Don, Tom and Harris, sisters, Pearl, and Harriet.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 4-8 PM at the Funeral Home.

A private family graveside service will be held in the Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
