Florence E Bashus

Florence Estelle Bashus age 83 of Bellevue formerly of Plattsmouth, was born on July 20, 1933 in Omaha, Nebraska to Dewey and Estelle (Ruby) Reed.  She passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2016 at her home in Bellevue, Nebraska. Florence grew up in Plattsmouth and graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1951.  After school she was united in marriage to Leonard P. Bashus.  To this union, three children, Rebecca, Mark and Michael were born.  She owned and operated the Corner Café in Plattsmouth for many years and also worked for the Douglas County Department of Social Services.  Outside of working, she loved spending time with her family, caring for her cat and dogs, gardening, cooking and baking.  She is survived by her children, Rebecca (Jerry) Skovgaard of Bellevue, NE; Mark (Laura) Bashus of Bellevue, NE; Michael Bashus of Plattsmouth, NE; grandchildren, Scott (Brittany) Bashus and Steven Bashus, great grandchildren, Ethan & Bridgette Bashus.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Aileen Rice, Mary Aylor and Betty VanHorn.  Florence’s wishes were to be cremated.  No services or visitation will be held.  Arrangements by Brian P.
