Gary J Adkins

Gary J. Adkins age 49 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska was born on April 8, 1968 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Larry E. and Judy (Waiter) Adkins, Sr.  He passed away surrounded by family at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska on Saturday, July 8, 2017. Gary was united in marriage to Jennifer Shera at the First Christian Church in Plattsmouth on March 12, 2011.  He was an avid Nebraska Football Fan, enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and playing pool.  He was a fun loving family man, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  Gary worked for many years as a driver for OFC/Schmidt Liquid Trucking in Plattsmouth.  He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Adkins of Plattsmouth, NE, children, Amber Adkins of Council Bluffs, IA, Ashley Adkins of Bellevue, NE, Andrew Adkins, Coby Smallridge and Carter Adkins all of Plattsmouth, NE, step-son:  Aaron Bible of Council Bluffs, IA; 12 grandchildren, siblings, Terri (Nick) LePine of Lyons, NE, Jerry (Kelly) Adkins of Laurel, NE, Kerri (Dave) Gochenour of Plattsmouth, NE, parents-in-law, Larry & Janie Shera of Plattsmouth, sister-in-law, Julie (Will) Wischmann of Ashland, NE.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louise and Anew Austin, parents, Larry & Judy Adkins, brother, Larry Adkins and an infant son, Dylan. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel in Plattsmouth, NE with Pastor Jon Hazlip officiating. Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
