Geraldine A. Tobin was born July 2, 1922 in Elmo, MO to George and Bertha (Vulgamott) Bloomfield. She passed away June 4, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Plattsmouth, NE at the age of 89 years , 11 months and 2 days. In 1949 she married Richard Tobin in Clarinda, IA. To this union was born a daughter Codonna. Geraldine worked as a CMA for 15 years at Iowa State School in Glenwood, IA. Later she was the Activities Assistant at the Plattsmouth Manor for 13 years. Geraldine was a member of the VFW Post 2543 in Plattsmouth and Church of the Holy Spirit. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, music, bingo, visiting and working. She will be remembered as a loving, dedicated, gentle yet feisty individual who enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Codonna Vannurden of Plattsmouth; grandchildren - Scott Vannurden of Papillion, Erin Vannurden of Kansas City, MO; sisters – Leona Fulk of Clarinda, IA , Virginia “Lavon” Shrimpton of Omaha. Also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband – Richard Tobin, brothers – Victor Bloomfield, Carl Bloomfield and Jack Bloomfield. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel – Plattsmouth, NE with Pastor Jerry Quandt officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery – Marysville, MO at a later date. Visitation will be Friday, June 8, 2012 from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Brian P.
