Hilda M. Resso, age 95, of Murray, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at the Nebraska Masonic Home on June 19, 2024. Born on February 5, 1929, on the family farm near Nehawka, Nebraska, Hilda was the daughter of Harry S. and Rose M. (Royer) Bickett.
On March 6, 1947, Hilda married Don Resso, and together they built a life on the Resso family farm situated between Nehawka and Weeping Water. Hilda embraced her role as a devoted farm wife and mother to their two children, Mike and Penny.
A longtime member of the Elizabeth Chapter 250 Order of the Eastern Star, Hilda found joy in collecting dolls, gardening, and feeding birds. She cherished the moments spent with friends over regular coffee gatherings, treasuring these simple yet meaningful times. Hilda was very active in her community of Murray. She regularly attended Town Board meetings and volunteered for Murray's freedom festival, even being named Grand Marshall one year. Hilda was also known to pass out pop every Halloween prior to 2020.
Hilda is survived by her son, Mike (Tami) Resso of Syracuse, NE, and her grandchildren, Amy Resso, Jennifer Robertson, and Donald Robertson. She is also fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Don Resso, her daughter Penny Robertson-McGuire, her brothers Edwin Bickett and Lavern Bickett, and her sister Shirley Winn.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Oakwood Cemetery in Weeping Water, Nebraska.
Memorials may be directed to the Nebraska Children's Home.
