Janice E Houle

Janice E. (Atkinson) Houle, age 79, of Plattsmouth, passed away surrounded by family at her home in Plattsmouth on Friday, November 18, 2022. She was born June 11, 1943, in Yakima, Washington to Cecil and Ada (Pletcher) Atkinson.

During her childhood, Janice lived in Bartlett, Nebraska, later moving to Washington D.C., then back to Nebraska. In 1963, Janice graduated from Wheeler County High School, and post-graduation attended college in Kearney.  On February 21, 1976, Janice married MSgt Howard Houle in a ceremony in London Dairy, NH.

Throughout her life, Janice kept very busy. She was a secretary for the FBI, a manager at Hands of Heartland, and a volunteer for the Special Olympics. She was a cheerleader for her kids and grandkids, loved shopping, specifically antique shopping, and was always on the lookout for collectible chickens and roosters. It was important to Janice to have her outfit matching head to toe and her hair and nails always done.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Houle, her sisters, Sandi (Mark) Tieri, Williamsburg, VA, Rita (Lee) Zentic of Lincoln, NE, Cheryl (Larry) Kramer of Chapman, NE; sons, Trey (Kasey) Houle, daughters, Michele (Jon) Norris-Konen, Teresa Houle Fitzpatrick, grandchildren Riley Fitzpatrick, TJ Fitzpatrick, Piper Fitzpatrick, Tripp Fitzpatrick, Chayne Norris, Howard Houle, IV, Carmah Houle, Caydence Snyder, Carleigh Houle, Greyson Houle, Hadley Houle, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Ada Atkinson, her brother, Terry Atkinson, and her sons, Ronnie Norris, and Craig Norris.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11:30 AM at the Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, NE.

Burial will be held at a later date in the Bartlett Cemetery in Bartlett, Nebraska.

Memorials may be directed to her family for future designation.
