Janice L. “Jan” Baker age 68 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at her home.  She was born on March 26, 1955, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Edward and Eileen (TenHulzen) Baker.

Jan grew up on the family farm near Firth, Nebraska.  She attended Norris Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1973.  After High School she began a career as a Chef.  Her career led her to work for Marriott Hotels where she had the opportunity to cook for President Clinton. She later worked for UNMC and in retirement worked part time at Stan’s Bakery.

Jan loved to keep busy, whether it was working a variety of crafts, fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors.  Her greatest love was the time with family, including meeting her second grandchild, Max recently.

She is survived by her sons, Jake (Hannah) Jensen of Plattsmouth, NE and Luke Jensen of Fremont, NE, grandchildren, Olivia and Max Jensen, brother, Chad (Pam) Baker of Firth, NE and sister Pat Baker of Firth, NE.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Plattsmouth, NE with Rev. Raymond Wicks officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Firth Cemetery in Firth, Nebraska.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
