Jerry L. Lagerstrom

Jerry L Lagerstrom, age 73 of Plattsmouth, NE, passed away April 27, 2021 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born October 14, 1947 to Chester and Marie (Alexen) Lagerstrom in Omaha, NE.

Jerry graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the Class of 1965, and then enrolled at the University of Nebraska in Omaha, graduating in 1971 with a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry.  He furthered his education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy where he graduated with distinction in 1977.

Jerry married Nancy Gross on May 17, 1975 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ord, NE. To their union, they had two children, Suzanne and Craig.  He began his Pharmacy career in Randolph, Nebraska where he owned and operated Randolph Drug.  He later returned to Plattsmouth and entered into a partnership with Schreiner Drug until its closing in 1997.  In 1998, Jerry then would own and operate Heritage Pharmacy till his retirement in 2014.

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, camping, hunting, canoeing and playing golf. He shared the love of these outdoor activities with his children and grandchildren. In addition to enjoying the great outdoors, Jerry loved attending and being involved in the activities and sports in which his children and grandchildren participated.

Jerry was very involved in amateur radio and was a volunteer examiner.  Jerry could also be found working on older cars and always cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Kansas City Royals.  He earned his Eagle Scout badge in his younger years.  He is a member of Eagles F.O.E. #365 and was a longtime member of the Lions Club.

Jerry is survived by his wife Nancy Lagerstrom of Plattsmouth, NE, his children Craig Lagerstrom of Plattsmouth, Suzanne (Mark) Hansen of Omaha, NE. Grandchildren Samantha, Addylin, and Cayla Hansen, brother Bob (Claudia) Lagerstrom of Olathe, KS, sister Marcia (Kenneth) Hostetter of Plattsmouth, NE, brother-in-law Alan Gross of Ord, NE and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Marie Lagerstrom, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

Celebration of Life will be Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 1:30 P.M. at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Plattsmouth, NE (Masks are recommended).  Rev. Jim Spanjers officating.
