Jim Coop

Jim Coop age 64 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska was born on May 17, 1955 in Kempten, Germany to Samuel D and Cathleen M. Coop.  He passed away peacefully at his home in Plattsmouth on Saturday, May 2, 2020.

Jim’s family made their home in Plattsmouth where he graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1973.  He worked in the trucking industry for many years, most recently as a Dispatcher for National Freightways.  He enjoyed time outdoors including hunting, fishing, golfing and playing softball.  He was a master with wood working and enjoyed building decks.  He was an avid coin and baseball card collector and a huge fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Green Bay Packers.

He was a member of the Plattsmouth Eagles Club F.O.E #365

Jim is survived by his sons, Rob Coop, Plattsmouth, NE, Brian (Miriam) Coop, Bellevue, NE, 5 grandchildren, Dylan, Kaitlynn, Brandon, Austin & BreAnn, brother, John Coop, Papillion, NE, sisters, Sharon (Larry) Hall, Ava, MO, Kaye (Bob) Topscher, St. Petersburg, FL.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel & Cathleen Coop, granddaughter, Alyssa Johnson, sister-in-law, Christine Coop.

Visitation: Monday, May 4, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Harvey Funeral Home (Only 10 people will be allowed in the building at a time, doors will be monitored to follow the state guidelines.)

Public Graveside Service:  Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the LaPlatte Cemetery in  LaPlatte, Nebraska
