John E Furlong

John E. Furlong was born on May 19, 1941 in Denver, Colorado to Herchel and Lorene (Crabb) Furlong. He passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, Nebraska at the age of 69 years, 11 months, 26 days. After graduating from High School, John served in the United States Army from 1961 until his discharge in 1967. He worked for several business before establishing his own catering company. He was united in marriage to Paula Storts in Denver, Colorado on July 5, 2001. He was a true lover of the land. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, rafting down the river and his love of cooking was evident in his business venture. John was an amazing story teller and enjoyed sharing those stories with anyone who wanted to listen. He was a member of the Plattsmouth Eagles F.O.E. #365. He is survived by his Wife: Paula of Plattsmouth, NE; Twin Brother: Jim Furlong and wife Joanne of Plattsmouth, NE; Step-Children: Susan Porter and friend Andy Granzella of Salida, CO; Patty Wilson (Bill) of Clay, NY; Will Porter (Cindy) of Fort Collins, CO and Kelly Montoya (Tony) of Lakewood, CO. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents and Sister Carol Bramley Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel in Plattsmouth, Nebraska with Dr. Allan Wooters officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
