John C Hopp

John C. Hopp age 86 of Plattsmouth was born on June 21, 1931 in Pacific Junction, Iowa to Ferdinand H. and Anna (Fisher) Hopp.  He passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska.  John grew up in Pacific Junction, Iowa and graduated with the class of 1949.  He was united in marriage to H. Leona (Le) Heigl on March 4, 1950 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.  Together they raised three daughters, Patricia, Ann and Linda.  He worked several jobs throughout the years, retiring from Airlite Plastics in 1990 after 27 years of service.  John was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He is survived by his wife:  Le Hopp of Plattsmouth, NE;  children:   Patricia Hopp of Papillion, NE; Ann (Michael) Durkin of Bellevue, NE; Linda (Dan) Borton of Bellevue, NE; Grandchildren:  Tarenda (Johannes) Van Vessum, Sean Durkin, Jonathan Borton, Deanne (Jerry) Slafter, Michael (Heather) Durkin, 8 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren.  Sister:  Dorothy Stouder of Glenwood, IA, Marge (Cletus) Haynie of Red Oak, IA; Sister-in-law:  Janet Hopp of Earlam, IA.  Numerous Nieces and Nephews.    He was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Brothers, Lawrence (Mary) Hopp & Paul Hopp, Sister:  Phyllis (Floyd) Stouder, Nephew: Gary (Yvonne) Stouder, Great Niece: Brandee Gillman  Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM  at Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska with Pastor Darrell Hopp officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM with family greeting friends from 5-7 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Hospital.  Arrangements by Brian P.
