John "Spark" C Ostrander

John C. “Spark” Ostrander was born December 30, 1944 in Omaha, NE to Joy and Margaret (Weibusch) Ostrander and passed away at home surrounded by family on Saturday, August 17, 2013. John grew up in southeast Nebraska and graduated from high school. He entered the US Army in 1964 and served until 1966. Spark married Diana Touchstone Nov. 24, 1967 in Brock, NE. He became employed by Lincoln Telephone as an Installer/ Service Technician and retired from the company then known as Aliant Communications. John enjoyed his family and loved having his garden. He was a Past Master Plattsmouth Lodge # 6 A.F. & A.M. ; Eagles FOE 365, V.F.W. Post 2543. John was also a Past Associate Guardian Job’s Daughters Bethel # 24; and a Deacon at First Christian Church in Plattsmouth, NE. Spark is survived by his Wife Diana Ostrander – Plattsmouth; Children: Dena (Scott) Cauffman – Houston, TX, Johnna (Matt) Graff – Lincoln, John (Allison) Ostrander – Nehawka; Grandchildren: Lacie, Maggie & Allie Cauffman, Isaac & Charlie Graff, John, Kenzie & Blake Ostrander; Sister: Vicki Ostrander – Omaha. He was preceded in death by his parents Joy & Margaret Ostrander; Sister Jean (Sis) Findlay and brother Ronald Ostrander. Services will be held August 21, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Christian Church, 802 Ave. "C" Plattsmouth, NE with the Rev. Larry Hammons and Rev. Raymond Wicks officiating. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth, NE. VISITATION: Tues (8/20) 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM with family greeting friends from 5-7 PM followed by a 7:00 PM Masonic Service at the funeral Home. Pallbearers are Jake Touchstone, Rob Touchstone, Zach Nielsen, Bob Touchstone, Steve Bowen and Dan Felix. Honorary pallbears are Dean Jeanneret, Larry Chubb, John Adkins, Bob Vance, Norm Sunderman, Roy Edmonds, and Denny Smith.
