Joseph Thomas Bebee

Joseph Thomas Bebee, Jr., age 73, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, passed away on May 2, 2024, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born on January 5, 1951, in Odessa ,Texas to Joseph T. and Verna B. (Young) Bebee.

Joe proudly served his country as a Command Sergeant Major in the US Army, where he served with various Airborne Units until his retirement. Following his military service, he dedicated himself to protecting others as a Guard in the State of Nebraska Prison System.

While stationed in Germany, he met Sabine Annerose Fischer and on August 18, 1978, they were married in Erlangen, Germany. Together, they shared a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.  Joe was a Lifetime member of the Lepert-Wolver VFW Post #2543.  In his free time, he enjoyed pursuing his hobbies, which included golfing, hunting, and shooting. Joe had a passion for traveling, particularly to Southern Germany.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Sabine; stepson Arnold (Corrina) Olson of Council Bluffs; grandson Matthew Olson; Aunt Janey Asbury of Texas; and cousin Lee Young Casen of Texas.

A memorial service to celebrate Joe's life will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 12:30 PM at the Harvey Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jim Spanjers. Prior to the service, a visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 PM at the Omaha National Cemetery, where Joseph will be laid to rest with full Military honors provided by the Nebraska Army National Guard.
