Karen R. Covey age 82 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska formerly of Colorado passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, Nebraska. She was born on December 20, 1939 in LeMars, Iowa to L.M. and Violet (Gable) Sampson.

She was united in marriage on November 20, 1955 to Mark E. Covey at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aurelia, Iowa. Together they raised four children, Scott, Lynn, Matthew and Joseph. She worked as a secretary for Phil Long Ford in Littleton, Colorado. She was a member of several social clubs throughout the years. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her wild birds, and hiking in Colorado. Her most memorable time was spent with family, sharing family traditions and enjoying each others company.

Karen is survived by her husband, Mark Covey of Plattsmouth, NE; children, Scott (Victoria) Covey of Knoxville, TN, Lynn Landry of Seabrook, TX, Matthew (Tracie) Covey of Plattsmouth, NE, Joseph Covey of Plattsmouth, NE; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and brother, Dwight Sampson of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Colorado.
