Kathy L Jensen

Kathy L. Jensen age 69 of Plattsmouth, NE was born on April 13, 1949 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa to Ed & Dorothy (Calhoun) Messer.  She passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Nebraska Medicine Bellevue.

Kathy met Lawrence Jensen and the two were married on June 7, 1969 in South Omaha, Nebraska.  Together, they made their home in Plattsmouth and raised three children, Shane, Sean and Pam.  Kathy stayed home and raised her children, after they entered middle school, she began working in housekeeping at the Masonic Home, Plattsmouth Manor and finally at the Sarpy County Court House.

She enjoyed her time with family especially the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She always enjoyed doing baking projects especially her famous brownie’s and holiday candy.  Spending time relaxing on the patio, taking a trip to the casino, or crocheting were a few of her favorite past times.

She is survived by her husband:  Larry Jensen of Plattsmouth; children,  Shane (Jennifer) Jensen of Plattsmouth, Pamela “Jensen” (John) Pettis of Bellevue, NE Grandchildren: Erika & Alexis Jensen, Raquel Valadez (Fiancé` Makoor Arop), Ruben Valadez, Sean Pettis , Brittany (Devin) Jensen and Breanna Jensen; Great grandchildren:  Emma Lynn Jensen and Makai Arop; brother, John Messer of Flowood, MS, sister, Susie Long of Council Bluffs, IA.  She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father,  Ed Messer, mother, Dorothy Johnson, step-father:  Kenneth Johnson, son, Sean Jensen, and sister, Vicki Wilson

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel in Plattsmouth, NE with Rev. Michael McGregor officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Rural Plattsmouth, Nebraska
