Obituary

Kenneth "Ken" Klemisch, born May 20, 1951, in Langdon, North Dakota, passed away June 20th, 2026 in Bellevue, NE. Ken was the son of Robert and Dolores Klemisch, and grew up in Drayton, ND, alongside his ten brothers and sisters.

In 1970, Ken moved to Fargo, ND, where he met the love of his life, Denise (Day). They married in 1975 and spent their early years moving around the country for his career with Kmart. They returned home to West Fargo in 1979, where they raised their family. Ken was a proud father to twin daughters, Cheri Lund (Adam) and Darci Hanson (Sean), born in 1980, and a son, Mike Klemisch (Elerose), born in 1983. In 2019, Ken relocated to Bellevue, NE, where he quickly found community.

Throughout his life, Ken had a natural ability to talk to absolutely everyone. He was a passionate, lifelong fan of Bison football, famously wearing his Bison gear daily and upgrading to formal Bison polos for special occasions. Ken also held a deep appreciation for the military; living near the Air Force base in Bellevue, he frequently handed out flag pins to veterans to thank them for their service, and he took immense pride in the fact that both of his daughters and his sons-in-law served.

Family and community were Ken’s greatest joys. He was a fiercely proud grandfather to his five granddaughters, Isabelle, Breanna, Myah, Kiera, and Sierra, and made it an absolute priority to attend their many milestones and events. He stayed closely connected with loved ones, frequently catching up on the phone or through Facebook, where he loved to brag about his granddaughters. He also cherished organizing the annual family Thanksgiving hotel reservations, embarking on fishing trips with friends, and sharing recipes. As an avid food lover, Ken always expected his family to text him photos of their meals whenever they went out to a restaurant or traveled on vacation. True to his generous nature, he expressed his love through food, never arriving anywhere empty-handed; whether visiting a doctor's office, meeting people at a restaurant, or attending a random gathering, Ken always brought along a treat to share.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Delores Klemisch, and his two brothers, David and Roger.

Funeral arrangements are pending, with services tentatively planned for the end of July in West Fargo, ND.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to your local VFW or American Legion in Ken’s name, honoring his lifelong support and deep gratitude for our nation's veterans.
