Larry W Hetzler

Larry William Hetzler, Wausaukee, WI. formerly Plattsmouth Nebraska, age 85 passed away May 14, 2023 at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, Wisconsin. He was born February 15,1938. He was the son of Maynard and Alice Hetzler. He grew up in Cantril, Iowa; the oldest of four boys. He graduated from Cantril High School in 1956. After high school he joined the United States Air Force, he served from 1956-1965 While stationed at Offutt AFB in Bellevue, Nebraska he met the love of his life, Helen Campbell. They were married September 30,1959 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. After leaving the Air Force in the fall of 1965 he found employment with Rubin Ford in Plattsmouth. His final employment before retirement was as a maintenance man at the Masonic Home in Plattsmouth.

Larry loved spending time with family. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. He loved reading, car races, bowling, frisbee and playing catch. He also loved pets and watching wildlife.

Preceded in death by his wife Helen Hetzler, mother and stepfather Alice and Dee Megrath, and father Maynard Hetzler, brothers Ronald, Donald, and James. Three sons, William, Lonnie, and Baby Hetzler. Son-in-law Donald Brasfield. Twin baby Brasfield Granddaughters and Grandson-in-law Josh Brazier.

Survived by his daughters Mary Brasfield (Brad Olsen) Atlantic, Iowa. Teresa (Casey) Wallace Wausaukee, WI. Grandchildren Christie Brazier and Terry Brasfield. Lonnie (Sam) Bamberg and Nathan (Mary Margaret) McColligan. 9 great-grandchildren. Numerous niece’s nephews and cousins. Sister-in-laws Raellen Bryant and Diane Hetzler.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, NE. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the Service.
