Larry Wiysel

Larry E. Wiysel age 79 of Papillion, NE formerly of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Hillcrest Shadow Lake in Papillion, NE.  He was born on July 19, 1938 in Omaha, Nebraska to Ray and Mary (Zitka) Wiysel. Larry graduated from High School in 1956 and enlisted in the United States Army, after two years, he returned home and went to work with his father at Wiysel Automotive in Union, Nebraska.  Larry and his Father opened one of the first Studebaker Auto Sales in Plattsmouth, NE.  Larry bought one of the first limited 1963 Studebaker Avanti’s.  He was the one owner of this limited edition car for over 50 years.  He later met; Thelma Kruger and the two were married on July 3, 1976 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.  He started his own business, Wiysel Auto Service in Union, NE.  He was well known as the guy to fix any car.  He was a proud business owner for over 45 years. Larry was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah Witness.  He is survived by his wife, Thelma of Papillion, NE; beloved nieces, Cherie, Paula, Tracy, Margie and Mary Jane, Cousin Raymond Tepoel and sister-in-law, Helen Smock.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Matthew Wiysel, and sisters, Eileen Wiysel ,  Barbara ( Wiysel )  Yelick, and brother in-law Donald Yelick. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall - Plattsmouth, NE.
