Lavonne R Fusaro

LaVonne R. Fusaro age 79 of Beaver Lake, Nebraska was born December 10, 1938 in Worthington, MN to Aeilt and Garnett (Davey) Johnsen.  She passed away at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE on January 21, 2018.

She grew up in Minnesota and after graduating from high school, she continued her education in nurses training.  She worked as an administrative assistant for the Dept. of Dermatology at the University of Minnesota.

On November 6, 1971 she married Ramon M. Fusaro at Watertown, SD.  They later moved to Nebraska and built a home on Beaver Lake, which was the second home ever built at Beaver Lake.   LaVonne worked on a Pancreatic Cancer Research Grant with Henry Lynch at Creighton University.

She was a founding member of the Beaver Lake Auxiliary and Bridge Club.   LaVonne belonged to P.E.O., First Presbyterian Church (former Elder and sang in the Choir), Presbyterian Women,  Omaha Performing Arts Member, UNMC Faculty Women’s Club Board serving President from 1980-81.

In her spare time she was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, entertaining, she was a lover of the arts and enjoyed playing the organ.  She and Ramon, enjoyed going dancing, taking a ride on their boat and traveling around the world, exploring new places.  She also enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, playing tennis and tending to her rose garden.

LaVonne is survived by her husband, Ramon Fusaro of Beaver Lake, NE; sister, Sheryl (Harley) Kempema of Burnsville, MN; children, Jeff (Jeanine) Weschcke of Oakdale, MN, Scott (Peggy) Weschcke of Beaver Lake, NE; step-daughter, Lisa Fusaro of Madison, WI, step-son-in-law, Tom Marshall of Marietta, GA, grandchildren, Christen (Brian) St. Michel, Kathleen Weschcke, Tiffany (Brent) Irey, Jacob Childs, Lauren Marshall; great-grandchildren, Tyler Childs, Alyssa Childs, Samantha McCarthy and Paige Irey; nephews, Corey, Jamie and Aaron Kempema; brother-in-law, Robert (Gloria) Fusaro of Minneapolis, MN.

Preceding her in death are her parents, step-daughter, Tony Marshall, brother-in-law, Clarence Fusaro.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church in Plattsmouth, NE with Rev. Matt Coplen officiating.

No Visitation will be held.
