Leland “Lee” S. Myers, Sr. (Little Man) was born Jan. 16, 1930 in Grand Island, NE to Lloyd and Nettie (Moore) Myers. He grew up in central Nebraska and joined the U.S. Navy in Jan. 1947. He spent 10 years serving much of the time on board ships working as an electrician during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge he decided to enlist in the U. S. Air Force. He followed his same course of work in the electrical field. He officially retired from military duty in 1967 after another 10 years of service serving during the Vietnam War.
Lee went to work for Eastman-Kodak as an equipment service representative. He enjoyed another 17 years in the work force. During his off time he was a life member of the Fullerton Masonic Lodge #89 A.F. & A.M., was a life member of V.F.W. Post 2543 Lepert-Wolever, Plattsmouth Eagles Arie # 365 and American Legion Post # 151. He enjoyed motorcycles and was a member of Cavaliers Motorcycle Club. After retirement you could find him having coffee at the local meat locker and lunch at Plattsmouth Keno a.k.a. Westside Cleaners (his words).
He is survived by children Leland (Sydney) Myers, Jr. of Hydes Ville, CA and Cheryl Myers (Dwayne Paustian) of Plattsmouth, NE, Grandchildren Leland Myers III, Alicia Myers, Laura Marsh, Lloyd Myers, Amanda Ziemke, Anna Ziemke, numerous great grandchildren and sister-in-law Ruth Myers of Fullerton, NE.
Lee was preceded in death by parents, Lloyd & Nettie (Moore) Myers, three brothers Eugene, Vernon & Carol, and son, Robert Myers.
Funeral Services will be January 18th, 2:00 p.m. at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel in Plattsmouth, NE with Rev. Michael Lincoln officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 17th from 4 until 8 PM with the family present from 6 – 8 at the Harvey Funeral Home Plattsmouth, NE.
