Obituary

Lenis Glen Grauf Jr., age 81 of Plattsmouth, passed away on August 15, 2026, at the age of 81 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Born on December 18, 1944, in Nebraska City, he was the cherished son of Lenis Grauf, Sr. and Marie (Allen) Grauf. Following the passing of his father, Lenis was raised by his mother and stepfather, Paul Stoll.

A proud graduate of Nebraska City High School, Class of 1963, Lenis furthered his education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business in 1967. His professional journey included dedicated years of service with the New York Life Insurance Company and Cass County Rural Water District Number One.

On August 28, 1966, Lenis united in marriage with Sharon Morton at the First Baptist Church in Union, Nebraska. Together they nurtured a happy family, welcoming their daughter, Heather Lynn, into their lives. Lenis had a deep-seated passion for farming and cattle, and he took great joy in his collection of tractors. A die-hard Nebraska Cornhusker football fan, he was known for his warm sense of humor and infectious spirit, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Lenis is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Sharon Grauf of Plattsmouth, and their daughter, Heather Pohlmeier of Plattsmouth. He is also survived by sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law, Mary Lou (Dick) Copenhaver of Mesa, AZ, Judy Gerdes of Plattsmouth, NE, Shirley (Jerry) Morris of Lincoln, NE, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, Linda (Stoll) Johnson, Paulie Stoll, and Brian Stoll and brother-in-law Virgil Gerdes.

A visitation with a lite lunch will be Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM at Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at the East Union Cemetery.
