Leonard Earl Andrews, age 85, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, passed away January 28, 2025 at 3:20 PM. He was born February 2, 1939 in McPherson, Kansas to parents Herbert and Myrtle Marie (Byrd) Andrews.
Leonard moved to Plattsmouth in 1961. He worked various jobs, including work for Western Electric until 1968, when he started his own Janitorial business. He was a hard worker and became known as the "Window Cleaning Man" for many years. He retired after 55 years of cleaning businesses and homes.
His real joy in life came from serving the True God, Jehovah. He had been baptized as one of Jehovah's witnesses in 1961, and was very zealous and enthusiastic in sharing hope for the future with others. He really loved talking about the Bible's hope of the resurrections, especially after losing so many family and friends in death.
He was married on June 3, 1973 to his wife Phyllis. They were married 51 1/2 years. Together they had two children, a daughter Ranee (Andrews) Thompson and a son Randall James Andrews. Leonard is also survived by two granddaughters, Cassie and Kattie, and two great grandsons, Lorenzo and Wendell.
He always had a smile on his face and always wanted to help others. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, as well as for his volunteer work on quick builds of Kingdom Halls. In the 1980s and 1990's, you could find Leonard in his silver hard hat helping with the builds in surrounding communities and other states. He even helped with a build in Plattsmouth in 2005. He loved to stay busy.
A service for Leonard will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness - 9811 S 36th St, Bellevue, NE 68123.
