Leroy E Bashus

LeRoy E. Bashus was born on November 21, 1920 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska to Edward and Leona (Benschoter) Bashus. He passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Plattsmouth, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 19 days. LeRoy was raised in Plattsmouth and graduated from Plattsmouth High School. He was later married to Joanne Underwood in Papillion, Nebraska and together they raised five children, Don, Steve, Dan, Kim and Greg. LeRoy spent several years serving in the U.S. Coast Guard before being honorably discharged. He was well known in Plattsmouth for operating the Plattsmouth Fish Market for over 40 years. LeRoy enjoyed bird watching, fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors. He is survived by his Children: Don & Kathy Bashus of Cedar Rapids, IA; Steve & Penny Bashus of Plattsmouth, NE; Dan Bashus of Plattsmouth, NE; Kim & Tom Gernert of Nehawka, NE; Greg & Christine Bashus of Plattsmouth, NE; 15 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; Sister: Marie & Bill Falt of Bellevue, NE. Also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Joanne Bashus; Brothers, Ed, Leonard and Jake Bashus. Funeral Services will be held on Thusday, October 13, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Living Water Church in Plattsmouth, Nebraska with Dr. Allan Wooters officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
