Lonald W. "Lon" Widler age 72 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, was born on September 10, 1945, in Hebron, Nebraska, to Donald and Colleenne (Henderson) Widler. He passed away peacefully at his home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, on Saturday, December 30, 2017.
Lon graduated from Bruning High School in Bruning, Nebraska. After a brief enlistment in the United States Navy, he attended Business School and graduated from the Lincoln School of Commerce. He was united in marriage on May 6, 1967, to Niki Fulton in Geneva, Nebraska. The two lived in several places as he and wife Niki owned a Farm Equipment Sales, Service, and Construction Business. In 1991, Lon began working as an Agent for Farm Bureau and established an agency in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, where he fulfilled his second passion of helping others.
Lon was a lifelong avid horseman, and caring for his many animals was very important in his life. He was a member of the National Cutting Horse Association, Nebraska Quarter Horse Association, and the American Quarter Horse Association.
Preceded in death by parents, Don and Colleenne Widler of Carleton, Nebraska, and grandson Mitchell McKelvey Bond.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Niki Fulton Widler, daughter Traci Widler Bond Costlow of Mineral Wells, Texas, son Mitch Widler (Karen), Weatherford, Texas, grandchildren Waylon Widler and Carter and Chloe Costlow, sister Wanda Kerwood (Mike), brother Rick Widler (Donna), sister-in-law Terri Arnold (Michael) and extended family.
