Loretta M Cottle

Loretta M. Cottle known to all as Retta was born September 28, 1943 to John W. & Violet (Whipple) Sinkhorn at their home in Forest City, MO. She passed away May 23, 2012 in Papillion, NE. at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 25 days. Retta’s childhood was spent in Missouri growing up and graduating from high school. On June 14, 1961 she married Merle L. Cottle in Fairfax, Mo. To this union were born 3 children Lisa, Larry and David. Retta spent her working years as a dependable employee for the United States Postal Service, serving 20 years in Lincoln, NE. She will be remembered as a beloved wife, nurturing mother and a most awesome grandma. Throughout her life, Retta spent much of her spare time cheering at countless events for her children and grandchildren. After retirement, she kept the highway busy driving her RV to all the family graduations, weddings and such. No matter the distance she would make the plans to attend enjoying each mini vacation with her family. She is survived by her children: Lisa and Dennis Kirchhoff of Avoca, NE, Larry and Nova Cottle of Fort Calhoun, NE and David and Dionne Cottle of Louisville, NE; brothers and sisters: Leota Thomson of Springfield, NE, Herman and Judy Sinkhorn of Darlington, MO, George and Gail Sinkhorn of King City, MO, Anne Giesken of Chariton, IA, Melody and Jack Hunsucker of King City, MO and Cindy Wilson of Gardner, KS.; grandchildren: Brandon & Brett Kirchhoff, Desiree Welter, Quintin, Zachary, Amber, Montana, McKenzie, Davion, Dawson, Dustin, Daigon and Danae Cottle; great grandchildren: Elliot Kirchhoff and Kaleb Kirchhoff. Retta was preceded in death by her parents John and Violet Sinkhorn; husband Merle L. Cottle; brothers Walter L. SInkhorn, John E. and wife Naomi Sinkhorn. She was a member of Living Water Church in Plattsmouth where her funeral service will be held on Monday, May 28, 2012at 10:00 A.M. Visitation will also be at the church on Sunday, May 27, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family present. Memorials can be made to the family for future designation.
